About us
Bookers Root is a vibrant and dynamic children’s reading and activity club in Abuja, Nigeria. The club was founded in 2024.
Our mission is to instill a passion for reading among children aged four (4) to nine (9), providing a platform for them to explore the magical world of literature.
We promote reading and learning through read-aloud sessions, friendly competitions, storytelling, hands-on activities and excursions.
We’ve read over 45 books, hosted more than 35 engaging meetings, and welcomed over 450 children into our reading community.
Bookers Root Club has hosted the Spelling Bee competition, the Creative Writing competition and also picnics. we have welcomed book authors for reading sessions. we have also sponsored children from internally displaced camps for story time parties.
Our club is designed to promote literature and creativity.
Programs & Sessions
AGE: 4 - 9
TIME: 12 noon - 3 PM
FREQUENCY: Alternate Saturdays (twice a month)
Each 3-hour session is packed with:
- 📖 Storytime: Guided group reading of beautifully written and age-appropriate books.
- ✂️ Creative Crafts: Hands-on activities that link to stories or session themes.
- 🎨 Expressive Play: Games, art, drama, and free expression to bring stories to life.
Our sessions are not just about reading, they are about building community, growing confidence, and making learning joyful.
Founder, Bookers Root 💛
Bookers Root Club started as a dream from my own home.
As a mother, I discovered early on the power of books, play, and creativity in shaping young minds. I created Bookers Root to empower and give a strong foundation to children.
I wanted to create a space where they can read, imagine, create, and grow and that i did.
With every session, I watch our children come alive through stories, crafts, and learning. I see confidence blooming. I see imagination taking flight. That is what drives me.
At Bookers Root, we are not just reading books, we are nurturing curiosity, creativity, and character.
